There is a lot of talk in the Wix world right now about a new Wix editor that is apparently about to be launched called Wix Studio 2. This buzz is fueled by a combination of unofficial announcements, community discussions and user-generated content that highlights the potential features and improvements that this new editor may bring to the table! Some of what is being shared is confirmed by Wix itself, while other details remain speculative and are based on user interpretations and expectations. Quite a lot of it sounds genuinely exciting, particularly because it promises to enhance the user experience significantly for both novice and experienced web designers alike.
The excitement surrounding Wix Studio 2 is palpable within the community. Many users are actively discussing their hopes and expectations on various forums and social media platforms. This level of engagement suggests that there is a strong desire for innovation and improvement within the Wix ecosystem.
At Miss Wix, we are particularly looking forward to how these new features will empower our team to create even more dynamic and visually appealing websites for our clients. The potential for enhanced creativity and efficiency is something that we believe will greatly benefit not only our design process but also the end-user experience.

What Is Wix Studio 2?
Wix Studio 2 is the name currently being used for the next version of the Wix Studio editor. It is a full rebuild rather than a feature update, designed from the ground up on standard web technology rather than the proprietary structure the current editor was built on.
Wix has previewed it early and quietly ahead of any public release. There is no official announcement, no confirmed feature list and no launch date. Even the name may change. So, everything below is best treated as an early picture rather than a finished product.
What Could Wix Studio 2 Include?
Early previews point to a cleaner and quicker way of working, with the same level of design control that Wix Studio offers today.
The features being discussed include a redesigned editor canvas, dark mode, design systems built into the editor, so a brand change flows through a whole website at once, and the ability to edit components directly on the canvas instead of working through panels. Content collections and Wix apps are also expected to connect more easily, which makes a real difference on any website running team profiles, service listings, online bookings or a shop.
The most talked about addition is an artificial intelligence assistant that can start a project, generate a section, build out a page or adapt a design for mobile. Everything shared so far suggests it will be optional. You can lean on it, use it to sketch a starting point or ignore it completely and design by hand.
The tools that make client projects run smoothly are expected to carry across too, including handoff, client feedback and content mode.
Why the Wix Harmony Connection Is So Interesting
This is the part we find most exciting and it is worth understanding how the two editors currently work.
Wix Harmony is prompt led. You describe what you want to Aria, the built-in artificial intelligence assistant, and it creates layouts and content you can then adjust. It is fast and friendly and brilliant for getting something live quickly.
Wix Studio is pretty much all manual. Every element, every spacing decision and every responsive breakpoint is designed by hand, which is what makes it the right choice for professional and custom work.
At the moment those are two separate experiences and you choose one or the other. Early previews suggest Wix Studio 2 may share the same underlying structure as Wix Harmony, which would allow a website to move between them without being rebuilt.
That is a genuinely useful combination. Artificial intelligence handling the fast, repetitive and early-stage work, then precise manual control taking over for the detail that makes a website feel considered and on brand. It is the pairing a lot of us have been hoping for.
What This Means for Existing Wix Studio Websites
There is no action required right now. Wix Studio websites continue to work as they always have. Nothing is switching off and nothing needs rebuilding. Wix Studio remains the recommended platform for professional and agency level projects, and it is a strong place to be building today.
It is also worth remembering how the last transition went. Editor X websites finished moving across to Wix Studio in January 2025, and Wix confirmed that live websites were updated without any effect on their performance. Wix has not shared its plans for Wix Studio 2 yet, so we will update this post as more information becomes available.
What Can You Do Now?
The best preparation is the same as it has always been. Focus on the parts of a website that hold their value no matter which editor builds them.
Strategy, user experience, content planning, design fundamentals and clear business outcomes all transfer directly. A well-planned website built in Wix Studio today will still be a well-planned website when new tools arrive.
If you are a designer, this is a great time to get comfortable with artificial intelligence as part of your process and work out where it genuinely helps. If you are a business owner, there is nothing you need to do beyond making sure your current website is actually working for you.

When Will Wix Studio 2 Launch?
There is no confirmed release date. Early estimates from the Wix community suggest several months away, possibly with some form of early access first, but Wix has not committed to a timeline.
We will keep an eye on it and share what we learn as things become official.
Final Thoughts
Wix Studio 2 looks like a genuine step forward. Faster building, cleaner foundations and artificial intelligence offered as a helping hand rather than a replacement for design thinking.
The combination of Wix Harmony's AI prompt-based interface and Wix Studio's precision is something we have been interested in for a long time so it is exciting to see how Wix will go in moving in that direction. We will share more as soon as there is more to share!
